ONAM CELEBRATIONS 2008
Come and join the celebration of Kerala’s Traditional Harvest
Festival
Onam 2008 on Friday, 29th August ‘2008.
The traditional Onam celebrations will be inaugurated by lighting
the traditional lamp at 12.00 noon followed by a cultural programme “Onapaattu”.
Highlights of the programme include “Chendamelam” (Traditional
Keralite drum beating by C. K. Lal and his associates), traditional dances and
songs by Faisal Hussain, Ramachandran Menon, Prashant Nair & Ramani Jayaprakash,
a magic show by Siraj Ummer.
Members and guests would also be treated to a lavish Onasadhya
(Luncheon of 20 items served on a banana leaf) after the cultural celebrations.
Members are requested to register their names with the Club’s
reception and also purchase coupons for their Guests.
Charges for Members will be Dhs.30/- per head and Guest Dhs.40/- per head.
