India Club has become the first Club anywhere to be awarded ISO 9001:2008 accreditation by Lloyds' Register Quality Assurance. My Tree planting in Dubai took place on 24th April 2010, the Regional Environmental Day. India Club participated in making the Environment more greener & eco friendly. The campaign gave people an opportunity to recycle paper and get a tree planted in their name, in the city of Dubai. This innovative campaign also supports and contributes to UNEP's Billion Tree Campaign, which EEG is proud to be part of. In total over 30 tons of paper was collected for recycling since February and the campaigns' popularity and success has been astonishing. EEG managed to involve many people in a social and environmental campaign, creating a double positive outcome for Dubai and the environment. As a part of its Green policy the Club and its Members collected over 400 kgs of newspaper in a matter of 10 days to be used for recycling. To appreciate the efforts of the Club, 5 saplings of trees were planted under its name at Mamzar Park. Container sent to Howrah
Sarada Seva Sangha, a non-government organization in Howrah, West Bengal was the recipient of a container load of clothing items from India Club. The NGO working for the down trodden in Howrah runs a school that has about 125 extremely needy children hailing from the slums of the area. India Club’s affectionate donation received from Members and their friends helped to fill a 20-feet container load of quality used and new clothes, blankets, toys etc meant for the poor kids that the Sangha takes care in Howrah. Recipients of these beautiful gifts were seen shedding tears of joy and gratitude and will be treasured in the hearts of these beneficiaries for a long time to come. Charity begins at home and India Club has continued its commitment to the less fortunate through this act of charity. Tsunami Fete

Water Bucket Walk
On Friday, November 20, 2009, members and the management team of India Club participated in the Water Bucket Walk, a symbolic walk-a-thon in support of children who do not have access to clean drinking water around the world. Most of us are not aware that children in developing countries walk on an average more than 6 kms daily to collect water that is likely to make them sick, thus preventing them from attending school. Water Bucket Walk gave India Club Members the opportunity to experience a fraction of the difficulties children face on a daily basis, by walking 3 kms carrying a bucket much like a child in a rural community would do daily. The registration fees, covered by India Club, provided each child access to clean drinking water for one year. Over 75 members participated in this event. IC donates for PM’s Relief FundIndia Club collected a sum of Rs. 3,50,000/- through a fun fair and donations from Members as part of a fund raising drive and sent to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. These funds provided relief to people in disaster affected areas of India. The fund renders assistance to individuals facing distress situations. Its resources are utilized for the provision of immediate relief to the families of those killed in natural calamities such as floods, cyclones, earthquakes. It also grants assistance to families affected by major disturbances, riots and accidents. Special Needs Family Support Events
India Club is pleased to associate itself with Special Needs Family Support Group (SNF). It offers its support by offering its halls for seminars without any charges. It also encouraged special needs kids to participate in the Swimming Gala held by the Club and ensured every kid was given a prize. At many occasions India Club has allowed its Bowling Alley by Al Noor Special Needs children. Badminton tournament where special needs children participated, has encouraged us to go one step further and so this year a separate category was introduced for students from Dubai Autism Centre and SNF. We have also been actively involved in promoting other causes – the prevention of child abuse where we tied up with Dubai foundation for women and Saathi to raise awareness of this topic.
